Initial Details: Enter Judge's name, Location, and Date in the right panel.
Handling Side: Choose between Left or Right handling. This affects course checking and auto-generation.
2. Placing & Editing Signs
Place: Drag and drop signs from the library onto the grid. The sign shrinks to actual size during dragging ("Ghost Image"), and blue alignment lines will snap to center, left, right, top, or bottom edges of existing signs to help you align perfectly.
Replace (Swap): To change a sign, drag a new sign from the library and drop it directly onto the existing sign on the board. The existing sign gets a red dashed border when targeted.
Move: Click and drag a placed sign. Alignment guides will automatically appear to assist with positioning.
Select: Click a sign once to select it (it will get a dark border).
Rotate & Scale: With a sign selected, use the tool buttons (Left/Right, Increase/Decrease) in the right panel to adjust it.
Edit Number: Double-click a numbered sign to manually change its sequence number.
Delete: Select a sign and press Delete or Backspace on your keyboard.
3. Drawing Handler Paths
Click ✏️ Left (red line) or ✏️ Right (green line) to activate drawing mode. Blue crosshair guidelines will follow your cursor.
Click and drag on the grid to draw handler paths.
Delete a single line: Double-click directly on any drawn line/path to instantly delete it.
Click the active tool button again to stop drawing.
Click 🧹 Clear all paths to instantly remove all drawn lines.
4. Auto Generate Course (BETA)
Click ✨ Auto Generate Course to let the system build a completely random course layout for you based on the chosen handling side.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a BETA feature. The generated course is a rough draft and might not be perfect. You must manually verify all distances, angles, sign combinations, and placements. Use the "Check course" button and your own judgment to ensure it complies with FCI regulations.
5. Check, Save & Print
✔️ Check Course: Validates your layout against FCI rules (checks 3m distances, required 3/4-point signs, total exercises, duplicate signs, and correct handling side for cones).
💾 Save / 📂 Load: Save your course map as a file to your computer, and load it back later to continue editing.
🖨️ Print / PDF: Automatically scales your entire course map to fit perfectly on a single landscape A4 sheet. The list of signs is automatically formatted into 3 tidy columns below the map.
